Where is Flinders Island?

Flinders Island is situated in Bass Strait between mainland
Australia and Tasmania. The main township, Whitemark, is
approximately 160 klm from Wilson's Promontory, 350 klm from
Melbourne, 85 klm from the nearest point on Tasmania, 180 klm from
Launceston and 320 klm from Hobart. |
Why do people go to Flinders Island?

Flinders Island is one of the few unspoilt unpolluted places left close to the major population centres of Australia. Combined with the very small population and the majestic scenery Flinders Island is still a paradise untouched. |

Shellite is readily available but the range of gas cartridges is limited so check before you arrive with your stove. |

The Furneaux Tavern at Lady Baron and Chappell's Restaurant at Trousers Point have meals on Sunday nights. |
